We run a ridiculously fast-growing company that helps innovative entrepreneurs in the contracting industry grow their businesses by implementing excellent operational systems into their companies. We believe in the unlimited potential of entrepreneurship and help our Members (clients) break through barriers and take their businesses to the next level.

Our proprietary training program brings systemization to a company’s operations, develops an entrepreneur’s core business skills, and holds accountability to goals along with a clear business plan.

Breakthrough Academy is now just seven years old and growing rapidly with over 500 business owners developing in the program, and an awesome team of 40 running the show. We are leaders in the contracting industry, producing high-quality, engaging content across multiple channels and we are well on track to continue the growth of our audience.

Because of this, we are looking for a master content writer to help us produce value driven content that resonates with our audience.

This is where you come in.

WE WANT TO SPEAK TO YOU IF:

• You are an experienced content copywriter looking for an awesome opportunity to work with a dynamic team producing content on a weekly basis. (The time commitment would be approximately 8 – 10 hours per week on an ongoing basis)
• You are naturally curious with a strong ability to research a topic thoroughly
• You are a master of producing grammatically accurate content with clear messaging while maintaining a consistent tone of voice and style
• You have experience producing effective content with SEO best practices in mind
• You have a passion for continuous improvement; you are a self-starter
• You have genuine interest in the trades industry and are ready to generate value driven content for our specific audience
• You enjoy taking large pieces of information and creating smart, concise (and playful) content with valuable takeaways for the reader

AS OUR CONTENT COPYWRITER YOU WILL:

• Create valuable and engaging content for our readers across various platforms, including our very own podcast (Contractor Evolution)
• Stay on top of the latest industry trends
• Capture and represent the brand and voice of Breakthrough Academy in all assigned work while producing exceptional copy and creative content
• Conduct necessary research to create engaging, knowledgeable content with SEO in mind
• Enhance our email nurture copy to capture top-of-funnel and bottom-of-funnel leads
• Proofread content with keen attention to detail
• Coordinate with the Content Manager, or other involved parties, to ensure you are prepared to meet campaign deadlines and deliver exceptional content for any assigned work
• Collaborate closely with our Marketing Team

Experience Required:

• 5+ years of long-form content writing (blog, creative writing, SEO, marketing) in a freelance or marketing agency environment
• Experience working in a dynamic environment with quick turnarounds
• Strong understanding of how to achieve compelling and effective copy that is in line with well-defined brand guidelines
• Expert in SEO-driven content
• Outstanding verbal and written communication
• Experience in writing and editing for plain language
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G Suite, Asana or similar project management tools, and content management systems
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
• Location: Preference for Greater Vancouver area, Calgary or Southern Ontario
• BONUS, but not required: Experience with audience engagement analytics
• BONUS, but not required: Experience in the trades, homes services, or construction industries
