Amanda Caine

Technical Writer

With a deep-rooted love of organization and a proven history of innovating systems, Amanda is the perfect person to add to the voice of BTA. Using her extensive background in Technical Writing and Certified Associate Project Manager designation, Amanda has successfully led some incredible projects. One of which was the FireSmart program in Jasper National Park, where her team managed a system of controlled burns to mitigate forest fires in the region. There, she was able to combine her project management skills with her conservationist drive and make a lasting impact on a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s largest Dark Sky Preserves.

Amanda started her professional career at a Public Relations Agency in Toronto and moved into the Ski Industry, organizing events. From there she became a Sustainability & Capital Project Manager, managing contractors to complete $10M of improvement projects throughout a 600 acre property. Amanda has used her technical writing abilities to develop contracts, policies and procedures for the Alberta Government and worked in the property management Industry, organizing change management throughout the company. Amanda’s training and experience are incredible assets, but it is her ability to connect with people through the written word and distill complex ideas down to relatable content that is so exciting. She also brings a true understanding of organization and project planning which shows in her professional and personal life.

Amanda grew up on a 100-acre farm in Ontario but in 2015, the mountains called. She has lived in some of Canada’s most beautiful mountain towns and on Vancouver Island, and now resides in Valemount, BC, where she enjoys all her favourite winter and summer mountain activities: snowboarding, fishing, camping and hiking with her Alaskan Husky.
