Breakthrough Academy is now seven years old and growing rapidly with over 500 BTA Members developing in the program, and an awesome team of 35 running the show.

Our proprietary training program brings systemization to a company’s operations, develops an entrepreneur’s core business skills, and holds accountability to goals along a clear business plan.

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and develop robust resources for business owners in the contracting industry.

• You have a natural ability to think logically and conceptualize training resources at the design, execution, and evaluation phases
• You love to research and gather information from various sources
• You have outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• You thrive with projects and assignments that have clear guidelines and require a high level of autonomy
• You can roll with the punches and pivot on a project as needed
• You make sound judgments based on solid research while staying out of the weeds
• You are creative and can imagine yourself in the shoes of the end user
• You have mastered the art of focus and do not get distracted by shiny things (or squirrels!)

In This Role You Will Be…

• Developing Operations Manuals for various trades-based contracting businesses
• Working within pre-established guidelines to organize information logically
• Collaborating with BTA Coaches and Members (clients) to review content for accuracy and relevance, making edits as necessary
• Editing and formatting all content to follow the BTA brand guidelines
• Working with the software development team to upload content and test the platform
• Working with key stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and quality
• Managing tasks within Asana

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Mathematics, Education, General Studies, or other relevant disciplines
• 2+ years of experience in technical writing or resource building
• Experience managing projects from start to finish
• Experience with relevant technology: MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project), GSuite (Google docs, sheets), Instagantt, Asana
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Understanding of small business operations
• Experience in contracting or service industries an asset
• Lives in the Vancouver lower mainland area or Vancouver Island
