Andrew’s Journey: Musician to Thriving Entrepreneur
Prior to Gables & Grove, Andrew was front-manning a successful punk band called Askultura. In 2019, after his tour bus blew a piston outside Salt Lake City, he traded in his guitar and microphone for some brushes and sprayers, and Gables & Grove was born.
With a healthy dose of humor and humility, Andrew has rapidly implemented everything Breakthrough Academy has to offer... and then some.
His results speak for themselves. In only a couple of years, Andrew has close to doubled his revenue and tripled net profits. In addition, he's gone from 60 hours a week down to a reasonable 40-50 with far less stress.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Brought under control his unwieldy addiction of onboarding new tech, dialing in what was needed and bagging the rest
- Hired the BTA WAY—wrote sizzling hiring ads, drafted Employment Manuals, and brought on four W-2 employees in early 2022. Hires included Office Customer Specialist, Project Manager, Sales 1, Sales 2. He linked up with preferred vendors, including SumoQuote and STG.
- He is held accountable by the community and gets traction much faster
- He uses the MBP and GS&Rs as pillars and they are closely monitored
- Integrated Strat Plan, Implementation Plans, and GS&Rs into Asana (much more collaborative) and solidified KPI's
ANDREW'S JOURNEY
"Gables & Grove was born in April 2019. Rev was $250k in 6 months of 2019 and it was 24/7 non-stop work. Early on I adopted coaching and learning platforms but was bleeding T.I.M.E.
2020 we tallied $750K and GP% was low. There were lots of job site and admin issues and everything took longer. In 2021 I got into BTA Foundations and I started building a tech stack, both which required substantial investments of time, money, effort and both which I undertook without hesitation.
2021 we grew to $1.2M at 50%GP and 29% NP without employees, achievable with a BTA mindset, improved time management, and super-efficient tech—we ran an average of ~5,000 zaps/month (now over 10,000 automations/month). Tight improvement on important KPIs—many being tracked for the first time. All this in large part was due to BTA and my brother Coach Harold. Went to the Phoenix Winter Summit in Jan 2022—14 months later my Summit Group still holds regular check-in Zooms, a testament to the power and influence of BTA.
Through the journey and with BTA & Coach Harold I've learned that:
- I'm coachable, creative, and ready for change. If there's a better way then we'll make it happen.
- Business IS (very) personal and our soulmates are critical. Thank you Megan.
- Where would we be without acronyms: BTA, PCP, SDT, SPT, JCC, MBP, OCS, PM, GS&R, A/R, STG, GSK, ...
- Listening to CE podcast keeps me sane...and I've learned another language (Canadian). We shouldn't ever stop learning.
- The Toolbox library of documents is powerful, and being able to ask Coach or the community for help is huge.
- Real and genuine Vision and Why documents that speak through Core Values are the true foundation. IMO dollars and cents—mega important as they are—are ultimately boring, disinterested reasons to build monumental companies or write heroic stories. I want to dig deep. Life is short, time slips quickly by, death is incoming. There has to be purpose or it's not worth doing.
- Breakthrough Academy has fortified me! We've got to pay the time and dollar dues, get held accountable, and enjoy the process. I know that I have the power to build and grow so I best not f it up!"
