  • Create a single source of truth. Whether it's SOPs, pricing information, or internal knowledge, your business needs one reliable place where information lives. The better your documentation, the more useful AI becomes.
  • Use automation before AI. Many contractors don't need sophisticated AI to see meaningful gains. Simple automations that acknowledge new leads, organize information, or move data between systems can dramatically improve customer experience without adding unnecessary complexity.
  • Keep humans in the loop. Customers still want to work with people they trust. Let technology handle repetitive administrative work so your team can spend more time building relationships, solving problems, and delivering exceptional service.

The biggest takeaway? AI isn't replacing good business strategy, it makes good strategy even more important. Contractors who understand their workflows, know where the bottlenecks are, and improve them intentionally will be in the best position to take advantage of what AI has to offer.
